Kathleen Chewning ’10

Kathleen grew up in Rutherfordton, NC.  She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate school and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism in Mass Communication with a minor in Art History.

While in law school, Kathleen served as the Associate Editor in Chief for the Charleston Law Review.  She was a member of the Moot Court Board and at graduation received the 2010 Arthur Gasque Howe Trial Advocacy Award.

Kathleen is admitted to practice in South Carolina and Georgia.  After law school, she served as a law clerk to The Honorable John Cannon Few, Chief Judge for the South Carolina Court of Appeals.  Kathleen currently works for the McNair Law Firm in Hilton Head Island, SC, where she focuses on Healthcare Law, litigation, and appellate advocacy.

Kathleen became a member of the Board of the Charleston School of Law Alumni Association in January 2013.  She is the Sea Islands Region Representative for the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.

Kathleen lives in Ridgeland, SC, and is engaged to fellow graduate William Barnes.
