James grew up in Charleston, SC. He attended the College of Charleston for undergraduate school and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
While a student at the Charleston School of Law, James was a member of the Charleston Law Review and Honor Council. James was the Captain of the Advanced Mock Trial Team. He also served as an Associate Justice of Business Affairs on the Moot Court Board and was involved with faculty recruitment. “I chose the Charleston School of Law because of its top notch faculty, trial and appellate advocacy offerings, and commitment to serving the community in which I was born and raised.”
After graduating from law school, James attended Georgetown University Law Center. He is expected to earn a LL.M in Tax in May 2014.
James currently works as an attorney for the South Carolina Department of Revenue in its Office of General Counsel, Tax, and Regulatory Services Division.
James became a member of the Board of the Charleston School of Law Alumni Association in 2012. He lives in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife, Allison, who works as a Respiratory Therapist for Lexington Medical Center. They are expecting their first child in April of 2014.
