Daniel W. Cooper
Class of 2014
Location: Charleston, SC
Nominated by Kayce M. Seifert, Class of 2013.
Statement from Kayce, on Daniel’s behalf:
Daniel’s loyalty to the Charleston School of Law began early during his time as a student in his service to the Student Bar Association as a senator and as SBA President during his third year. As a student, Daniel consistently embodied the principle of service-above-self; his dedication to the motto of “Pro bono populi” continues on today as he serves the Alumni Board as its President.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Daniel in a variety of capacities over the past 5 years, including as a fellow executive officer of the Board since December 2015. He is hard-working, honest, and thoughtful as a leader, colleague, and friend. As President of the Association’s Board, Daniel has worked diligently to reshape the functions of the Association in the post-Infilaw era, including initiatives to improve outreach efforts to alumni and current students, increase community service opportunities, and foster greater communication between CSOL administration and the Association. The Board has accomplished a great deal under Daniel’s leadership and we would be well-served to have him begin another term as a director in 2017.
