Florida Coastal Law Student Case Alleges Deceptive Practices by Infilaw

Six graduates of the Florida Coastal School of Law( (FCSL)–one of the three schools listed as a member of Infilaw’s “consortium” of independent schools–filed suit in 2012 against the school alleging that it made specific public misrepresentations that amount to deceptive practices under Florida Law.

Specifically, the complaint alleges that FCSL misrepresented both the employment rate of its graduates and the average salaries of those graduates in its recruitment materials.

For those concerned by Infilaw’s recent “management agreement” this case is of particular interest because Infilaw has positioned itself in representations made to current and prospective students of the Charleston School of Law as having the ability to maintain or improve the academic, bar pass, and employment success of CSOL’s students.

The Alumni Association Board will continue to monitor the progress of this case.
